Some departments have posts earmarked for PwBDs. The notification includes horizontal reservation (4% for PwBD) and standard central government category reservation (SC/ST/OBC/EWS).

Essential Qualifications

If you are eligible you must hold one of the following:

• MD / MS / DNB / DM / M.Ch or equivalent postgraduate degree recognized by NMC / MCI / NBE.
• Dentistry: Only MDS in Conservative & Endodontics is eligible for the Dentistry post.
• For some seats (Clinical Haematology) you with MD in General Medicine or MD in Paediatrics you may also be considered.

Experience and eligibility will be considered as on the date of walk-in interview.You have already completed 3 years of Senior Residency are not eligible.

Age Limit & Relaxation

• Upper age limit: 45 years (cut-off for age is date of walk-in).
• Age relaxation: SC/ST — 5 years; OBC — 3 years; PwBD — 10 years; Ex-Servicemen — 5 years (as per rules).
• You are from reserved categorie you can apply for UR seat you will not be eligible for age relaxation for those UR seats.

Pay Scale

• Pay: ₹67,700/- per month (7th CPC, Level-11) + NPA (wherever admissible) and other usual allowances as per rules.

This remuneration is attractive for locum / ad-hoc Senior Residents and is in line with AIIMS pay standards for Level-11 posts.

Application fee & Mode of Payment

• General / OBC: ₹1,500 /- (Demand Draft)
• SC / ST / EWS: ₹1,200 /- (Demand Draft)
• Ex-servicemen / Women / PwBD: Exempted

Important: Fee must be paid only by Demand Draft drawn in favour of AIIMS, Patna payable at AIIMS Patna. Cash, cheque, postal orders, online transfers, or any other payment mode will not be accepted. Incomplete/incorrect fee payment will lead to rejection.

  • 25.11.2025: Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, General Medicine, Hospital Administration, Microbiology, Neonatology, Nuclear Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Pathology/Lab Medicine
  • 26.11.2025: General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Pharmacology, Physical Medicine & Rehab, Psychiatry, Radiodiagnosis, Radiation Oncology, Transfusion Medicine & Blood Bank

Selection Procedure

• Selection will be entirely by Walk-in Interview.
• You must bring originals and one set of self-attested photocopies of documents .
• Eligibility verification will be done on the day of interview; final result will be uploaded on AIIMS Patna website.
• Tie-breaking: In case of equal marks, older candidate (earlier DOB) will be ranked higher.
• If you are selected you must undergo medical fitness testing before joining — selection is subject to medical clearance.

You must bring the following to the walk-in interview:

• Recent passport-size photograph (colour; light background)
• Demand Draft (original), if fee applicable
• Aadhar Card / Photo ID
• SSC / HSSC certificate (DOB proof)
• MBBS Degree Certificate
• MD/MS/DNB/DM/M.Ch Degree or Provisional Certificate
• UG & PG registration certificates (NMC / State Medical Council / NBE)
• Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) if claiming reservation (format and recency as per central govt)
• PwBD / Ex-Servicemen certificate (if applicable)
• Experience certificates (if any)
• NOC from current employer (if employed in Govt/Pvt organization)
• Any research/publication documents (if claiming weightage)

Note: Applications incomplete or without required documents / correct demand draft will be rejected.

Reservation & special rules

• Reservation is as per Central Government rules. EWS / OBC-NCL / SC / ST / PwBD details must be supported by valid certificates.
• PwBD horizontal reservation ~ 4%; physical requirements/fitments detailed in the notification.
• If you are OBC you must submit non-creamy-layer certificate valid for central government posts (issued within 1 year prior to interview date).
• EWS certificate must be valid for central government posts and dated within 1 year.

Reasons for rejection & misconduct penalties

You will be rejected for:

• Incomplete application / incorrect signatures
• Fee payment not by DD where applicable
• Under-age/over-age candidates
• Failure to bring original documents at interview / mismatch in documents
• Submission of fabricated or tampered documents

You found guilty of impersonation, fabricating documents, intimidation or undue influence will be blacklisted and may face criminal action / debarment (up to 3 years).

• Application details (name, DOB, category, department, PwBD status) cannot be changed after submission.
• If you are selected you must join within the timeframe mentioned in the offer letter or selection will be cancelled.
• Private practice is strictly prohibited during the tenure. Training/service is full-time and continuous.
