UPSC Recruitment 2026 –  34 Vacancies | Apply Online

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited Online Recruitment Applications (ORA) for direct recruitment by selection under Advertisement No. 10/2026. The recruitment covers 34 vacancies in different Central Government departments and the Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh.

1. Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil)

The post is permanent and is classified as General Central Service Group-A Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The headquarters is Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and the selected candidate may be required to serve anywhere in India along the Indian coast, including the Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands.

2. Assistant Executive Engineer (Electronics)

There are 9 vacancies for Assistant Executive Engineer (Electronics).

The reservation position is UR-04, OBC-03, SC-01 and ST-01, with one vacancy reserved for PwBD candidates.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should possess a Degree in:

• Telecommunications Engineering, or
• Electronics Engineering, or
• Electronics and Communications Engineering

from a recognized University or equivalent.

IETE or Section A & B of the Institution of Engineers (India) qualifications are also considered subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.

Experience

Candidates require two years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in the field of radio aids to navigation.

The desirable qualification includes experience in generation, supply and transmission of power, along with experience involving lighting, small motors and wiring.

Age: 35 years for UR, 38 years for OBC and 40 years for SC/ST, with applicable PwBD relaxation.

Pay: Level-10.

3. Assistant Director (Engineering)

There is 1 UR vacancy for Assistant Director (Engineering) in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.

Candidates also require two years of experience in either:

1. Design, construction and maintenance of Civil Engineering works, including harbour engineering works; or
2. Maintenance and operation of cranes, diesel locomotives, marine engines and ancillary machines in a mechanical or marine workshop or organization.

Age: 30 years for UR, with further PwBD relaxation.

Pay Scale: Level-7.

The post is permanent and is classified as General Central Service Group-B Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The headquarters is New Delhi.

4. Superintendent Translation (Hindi Branch)

There is 1 UR vacancy for Superintendent Translation (Hindi Branch) in the Official Languages Wing of the Legislative Department, Ministry of Law and Justice.

The post requires substantial legal and Hindi-language qualifications.

Candidates may qualify through the Master’s Degree in Law route with the required experience, or through the Bachelor’s Degree in Law route with the prescribed longer experience. The notification includes experience in areas such as legal affairs, legal practice, teaching law, translation of statutes/rules/orders into Hindi and drafting of statutes.

Candidates must also have passed the Secondary School Examination or a higher examination through Hindi medium or studied Hindi as a subject at the prescribed level.

Age: 35 years for UR, with PwBD relaxation.

5. Research Officer

The Research Officer post has the highest number of vacancies in this advertisement, with 11 posts in the National Atlas and Thematic Mapping Organisation, Ministry of Science and Technology.

The reservation distribution is UR-07, EWS-01, OBC-02 and SC-01, with one vacancy reserved for PwBD candidates.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should possess a Master’s Degree in any of the following:

• Geography
• Geology
• Applied Geology
• Geoinformatics
• Geographical Information System and Remote Sensing
• Geomatics
• Geospatial Technology

from a recognized University or Institute.

Candidates should also have studied Geography or Geology/Applied Geology as a subject in all years at Bachelor’s degree level.

Experience

The required experience is five years in geographical and cartographical teaching or research involving collection of data and preparation of maps on various themes.

A doctorate in the relevant fields is desirable.

Age: 35 years for UR/EWS, 38 years for OBC and 40 years for SC, with further PwBD relaxation.

Pay Scale: Level-10.

The headquarters is Kolkata. The duties include thematic map preparation, geographical research, GPS surveys, GIS and geospatial work, remote sensing, digital data structures and web-based geographical services.

6. Horticulture Development Officer

There are 4 vacancies for Horticulture Development Officer in the Horticulture Department, Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh.

The reservation position is ST-04.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should possess:

Bachelor in Horticulture Science OR Bachelor in Agriculture Science.

Age: 40 years for ST, with further relaxation for PwBD candidates.

Pay Scale: Level-8 of the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

The duties include implementation of horticulture development programmes, promotion of new technologies, monitoring of pests and diseases, supervision of orchards and nurseries and submission of progress reports.

Important Ladakh Domicile Requirement

This recruitment is exclusively for domiciles of the Union Territory of Ladakh. A valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Tehsildar in the Administration of UT of Ladakh is required. The notification identifies eligible categories including persons holding or eligible to hold the Ladakh Resident Certificate and children of LRC holders or eligible persons.

7. Soil Conservation Assistant

There are 7 vacancies for Soil Conservation Assistant in the Command Area Development, Agricultural Department, Administration of UT of Ladakh.

The reservation position is ST-07.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should possess any one of the following:

• B.Sc. Agriculture
• B.Sc. Horticulture
• B.Sc./M.Sc. Soil Science
• B.E./B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering

from a recognized University or Institute.

Age: 40 years for ST, with further PwBD relaxation.

Pay Scale: Level-8.

The work includes preparation of estimates and DPRs, supervision of works, preparation of contractor bills, recording accounts and materials and monitoring the progress of works.

UPSC Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The recruitment is conducted through direct recruitment by selection. The Commission does not necessarily call every eligible applicant for interview.

If applications are large in number, UPSC may adopt shortlisting criteria based on:
