MRPL Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should carefully check the eligibility conditions before submitting the application. Eligibility has to be satisfied as on the prescribed cut-off date of 19 September 2026.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess the required engineering qualification in the relevant discipline and must have a valid GATE 2026 score in the corresponding paper.
The accepted qualifications include:
- B.E.
- B.Tech.
- B.Sc. Engineering of four years duration.
- Relevant integrated engineering qualifications as specified in the notification.
- Five-year integrated B.E./B.Tech + M.E./M.Tech candidates may also be considered subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.
The qualification must be from a recognized Indian University, deemed university, AICTE-approved autonomous Indian institution or the concerned statutory council/Board of Technical Education, wherever applicable.
Minimum Marks
Candidates applying against UR, EWS and OBC (NCL) posts must have at least 60% aggregate marks in the essential qualification.
Candidates applying against posts reserved for SC, ST and PwBD categories must have at least 50% aggregate marks.
The percentage is calculated using the aggregate of all semesters/years. The notification specifically states that marks should not be rounded off; for example, 59.99% cannot be treated as 60%.
GATE Requirement
A valid GATE 2026 score in the relevant paper is mandatory. Previous GATE scores or scores from other GATE examinations will not be considered.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit for UR and EWS candidates is 27 years.

MRPL Assistant Engineer Selection Process 2026
The selection process consists of three major stages:
Stage 1 – Shortlisting Through GATE 2026
MRPL will initially shortlist candidates based on their GATE 2026 marks out of 100. Only GATE 2026 marks in the relevant paper will be considered.
Stage 2 – Group Discussion
Shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion.
Stage 3 – Personal Interview
Candidates qualifying for the subsequent stage will attend the Personal Interview.
MRPL intends to call candidates for GD and PI in a 1:5 ratio, meaning approximately five candidates for every notified post, subject to reservation. If candidates have equal GATE marks, higher marks in the essential educational qualification will be considered for deciding the shortlist. The final merit list will be prepared according to MRPL’s prevailing rules.
