7. Eligibility Criteria

7.1 Regional Eligibility

• Candidate must belong to Southern Region only:
  • Tamil Nadu
  • Karnataka
  • Andhra Pradesh
  • Telangana
  • Kerala
  • Puducherry

7.2 Educational Qualification

• Full-time Regular Degree / Diploma
• From AICTCTE / DOTE / UGC recognized institutions
• Passed on or after 01-04-2021

7.3 Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)

• Maximum Age: 25 years
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC / ST – 5 years
  • OBC – 3 years
  • PwBD – 10 years

7.4 Minimum Percentage Required

• General / OBC / EWS: 60% or above
• SC / ST: 50% or above
• B.Com / BBA / BBM: Minimum 50%

7.5 Important Ineligibility Conditions

Candidates are NOT eligible if they:

• Already completed or are undergoing Apprenticeship under NATS/NAPS
• Possess or are pursuing higher qualification (PG / Integrated PG)
• Have more than one year work experience in private organisations

Step 1: Shortlisting

• Based purely on percentage of marks
• No written exam for apprenticeship entry

Step 2: Walk-in Verification

• Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification
• Selection list published on BEL website

Graduate Apprentices → Trainee Engineer-I

  • ₹30,000 (1st year)
  • ₹35,000 (2nd year)

• Screening Trade Test (100 marks)
• Minimum 50% required
• Advanced Training Duration: 2 years
• Stipend:
  • Diploma: ₹25,000 → ₹26,000
  • Optional: ₹22,000 → ₹23,000
