CBSE Direct Recruitment Quota Examination 2026 – Detailed Notification (DRQ2026)
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released an official notification inviting online applications for Direct Recruitment Quota Examination 2026 (DRQ2026) on an All-India Competitive Examination basis. The notification includes multiple Group A, B, and C positions such as Assistant Secretary, Assistant Professor/Assistant Director, Accounts Officer, Superintendent, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Accountant, and Junior Assistant.

Only online applications are accepted; applications submitted by post, email, or hand will be rejected.

Note: Even if the last date is extended for administrative reasons, the eligibility cut-off date remains 22.12.2025.

Eligibility Criteria by Post
Below are the minimum educational requirements, age limits, and recruitment stages.
A. Group A Posts
1. Assistant Secretary
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
- Maximum Age: 35 years.
- Recruitment Stages:
- Tier-1 – MCQ Objective Screening
- Tier-2 – Objective + Descriptive Main Exam
- Tier-3 – Interview
2. Assistant Professor & Assistant Director (Academics / Training / Skill Education)
- Educational Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in any discipline with 55% marks.
- Desirable Qualifications:
- B.Ed / M.Ed
- NET / SLET
- NET-JRF
- Doctorate (PhD)
- Maximum Age: 30 years
- Stages:
- Tier-1 – Objective Screening
- Tier-2 – Objective + Descriptive Main Exam
- Tier-3 – Interview (30 marks)
3. Accounts Officer
- Required Qualification: One of the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree with Economics / Commerce / Finance / Accountancy / Business Studies / Cost Accounting OR
- Bachelor’s Degree + SAS/JAO(C) exam from Govt. audit/account services OR
- Post-graduate degree in related subjects OR
- MBA (Finance) / Chartered Accountant / ICWA
- Desirable: Experience in budgeting, auditing, fund management, investments etc.
- Maximum Age: 35 years.
- Recruitment Stages: Tier-1 → Tier-2 → Interview.
B. Group B Posts
1. Superintendent
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge of MS Office, Windows, large database handling.
- Typing Requirement: 35 wpm (English) / 30 wpm (Hindi) — qualifying only.
- Age Limit: 30 years
- Stages: Tier-1 → Tier-2 → Skill Test.
2. Junior Translation Officer
- Educational Requirements:
Master’s in Hindi with English OR Master’s in English with Hindi OR
other combinations of Hindi/English as medium/elective at degree level. - Also Required: Diploma/certificate in translation OR 3 years of translation experience.
- Age Limit: 30 years.
- Stages: Tier-1 → Tier-2 (Objective + Descriptive).
C. Group C Posts
1. Junior Accountant
- Qualification: 12th with at least one commerce/accountancy/finance/economics subject.
- Typing: 35 wpm (English) / 30 wpm (Hindi) – mandatory.
- Age Limit: 27 years.
- Stages: Tier-1 → Tier-2 → Skill Test.
2. Junior Assistant
- Qualification: 12th pass or equivalent.
- Typing: Same 35/30 requirement.
- Stages: Tier-1 → Tier-2 Descriptive → Skill Test.
- Age Limit: 27 years.

Reservation Categories
Reservation applies for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD/ESM as per central government norms. You must produce valid certificates in the prescribed format.
Application Fees
Application + Processing fees:
For SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/Women
- Application: Nil
- Processing: ₹250
- Total: ₹250
For UR / OBC / EWS
- Group A: 1500 + 250 = ₹1750
- Group B: 800 + 250 = ₹1050
- Group C: 800 + 250 = ₹1050
Fee is non-refundable. No other payment methods (DD, Cash, Postal Orders, etc.) will be accepted.

On successful payment, an e-receipt will be generated.
Exam Pattern Overview
Every post has Tier-based examinations. Tier-1 is always Objective MCQ in OMR format. Tier-2 is mostly a combination of Objective + Descriptive.
Some Group B and C posts require Skill Tests (typing), only qualifying.

- +3 marks for correct

Tier-1 exams will be held at 19 cities including:
Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi/Noida/Gurugram, Guwahati, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, Vijayawada etc.
CBSE reserves rights to modify/change centres based on logistics.

- Printed Admit Card
- Passport size photo (same as uploaded)
- Original photo ID: Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN / DL / Passport
- PwBD certificate (if applicable)

Cities include Ajmer, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, Vijayawada, and more.
Posting requests or influence will lead to cancellation.
General Conditions
- Only one application allowed per post. Multiple entries = rejection.
- Separate application & fee needed for multiple posts.
- No re-evaluation of answer sheets.
- Merit list is post-wise.
- Experience must be justified via employer certificate on official proforma.
Syllabus Allocation Strategy
CBSE has grouped posts by similarity of exam content at Tier-1.
Example:
- Post Codes 01/25–05/25 and 07/25 share a single Tier-1 exam.
- Post Codes 08/25 & 09/25 share a single Tier-1.
You are applying for multiple posts must submit separate applications, otherwise Tier-1 scores will not be reused.
