4. Zone-Wise Distribution of Institutions

For recruitment convenience, institutions are divided into five zones:

Candidates may apply zone-wise, and final allotment is done based on zone preference + merit rank.

• Master’s Degree in Library & Information Science (55% marks)

• NET / SET / SLET OR PhD (as per UGC rules)

• Knowledge of library computerization

• Desirable: MA / Acharya in Sanskrit

Section Officer

• Bachelor’s Degree

• 3 years as Assistant (Level-6) OR 8 years as UDC

• Computer proficiency, noting & drafting

Assistant

• Bachelor’s Degree

• 3 years as UDC or equivalent

• Typing + computer skills

Professional Assistant

• MLIS + 2 years experience
  OR

• BLIS + 3 years experience

• Computer knowledge

UDC

• Bachelor’s Degree

• 2 years as LDC

• Typing speed: English 35 wpm / Hindi 30 wpm

LDC

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Typing speed: English 35 wpm / Hindi 30 wpm

• Computer operations proficiency
