Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
- Graduate Apprentice Trainees: 4-year regular B.E./B.Tech degree in the respective discipline from a recognized university or institute.
- Technician Apprentice Trainees: 3-year regular Diploma in Engineering/Technology from a recognized State Council or Technical Board.
Additional Conditions:
- If you have passed your Degree/Diploma between 2020 and 2025 are eligible.
- You should not have undergone or be undergoing any apprenticeship training earlier.
- You must have a verified 16-Digit NATS Registration ID.
- Yours mark sheets do not specify the result date must submit a certificate from your institute stating the date of declaration.
- You can apply for only one discipline.
Age Limit:
- Technician Apprentices: 18–24 years
- Graduate Apprentices: 21–26 years
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST – 5 years
- OBC (NCL) – 3 years
- PwBD – 10 years (15 years for SC/ST, 13 years for OBC)
Reservation:
Reservation for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwBD you will be as per Apprentices Act guidelines. You are claiming reservation you must provide the appropriate certificates issued by a competent authority; otherwise, they will be considered under the General category.
Stipend & Training Period
- Training Duration: 12 months
- Stipend:
- Graduate Apprentice: ₹12,300/- per month
- Technician Apprentice: ₹10,900/- per month
- No other allowances or benefits are admissible.

Registration Steps:
- You can visit https://nats.education.gov.in
- You can click on Student – Student Register
- You can complete the application form
- A unique Student Enrollment ID will be generated, which must be mentioned in the walk-in interview applicationRegistration is mandatory before appearing for the walk-in interview.
Selection Process
- Selection will be discipline-wise merit-based through performance in the walk-in interview.
- You may also be shortlisted through written tests or additional criteria if the number of applicants is large.
- Medical fitness will be verified; you must be fit as per the standard required for the discipline.
Issuance of Certificate of Proficiency (COP):
If you are selected a Graduate and Technician Apprentice who successfully complete the training will be awarded a Certificate of Proficiency by the Eastern Regional Board on behalf of the Central Government.
Terms and Conditions
- Apprenticeship training does not guarantee regular employment at CSIR-NML or any CSIR institute.
- Training will be terminated if false information or suppression of facts is detected.
- You must have an Aadhaar-linked bank account and PAN for stipend disbursement.
- Accommodation will not be provided; You must make your own arrangements.
- Any updates or corrigenda will be posted only on the CSIR-NML website.
- You must have a valid email ID and mobile number.
- Possession of higher professional qualifications will not be considered for eligibility.
