Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), a Central University located in New Delhi, has released an important recruitment notification for multiple non-teaching positions under Advertisement No. 02/2025-26 (NT) dated 02 December 2025.
The university invites applications on the prescribed form for various administrative, academic support, engineering, library, and other operational posts.

This notification is crucial because it offers opportunities in Group A, Group B, and Group C categories, covering positions from Private Secretary and Personal Assistant to Junior Engineer, Library Staff, Cook, and Security Assistant. Important Details & Application Method

Unlike many modern recruitments, applications must be submitted physically to the university office. Online applications are not accepted.
You must reach the following address on or before 26 December 2025:

(Working hours: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM; Lunch break 1–2 PM).

This means you should print the form, attach required documents, pay fees, and physically submit or courier the form to the office.


Very Important for Old Applicants (Advt. 01/2023–24)

You had applied earlier in Advt. No. 01/2023-24 (NT) Dated 29.04.2023, and fulfil qualifications for the same positions in this new advertisement, are required to apply again.
However:

  • You are exempted from paying the application fee, only if you can attach:
    • Acknowledgement receipt
    • Indian Post slip/courier slip
    • Proof of application previously submitted
  • You will also receive age relaxation if you met age criteria last time.

This clause is extremely beneficial to older applicants who already invested time and money in previous cycles.

1. Private Secretary (01 post)

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from recognized University/Institute
  • 3 years’ Personal Assistant experience OR 5 years’ Stenographer experience in:
    • University
    • Central/State Govt
    • PSU
    • Research establishment
  • Stenography speed: 120 wpm (English)
  • Typing speed: 35 wpm (English)
  • Computer application knowledge

Desirable:

  • Good English communication
  • Knowledge of Hindi & Urdu

Skill Test Norms:

  • Dictation: 10 minutes @ 120 wpm
  • Transcription: 50 minutes (English)

Age Limit: 40 years


2. Personal Assistant (English/Hindi)

  • 12 English + 03 Hindi positions total.
  • One post is reserved for OH.

Pay Level – 6 (₹35,400–1,12,400)

Eligibility Highlights:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Steno speed 100 wpm (English/Hindi)
  • Typing: 35/30 wpm
  • Computer Applications
  • 3 years as Stenographer equivalent in Govt/University/Research Org

3. Stenographer (English/Hindi)

  • 08 English + 02 Hindi posts
  • One reserved for OH

4. Land Record Superintendent (01)

Pay Level – 6 (₹35,400–1,12,400)

Essential:

  • Graduate
  • Trained Patwari certification
  • 8 years field experience (land/revenue matters)
  • Hindi, Urdu & English knowledge

Desirable:

  • Computer knowledge
  • Noting & drafting experience

5. Land Record Keeper (01)

Pay Level – 4 (₹25,500–81,100)

Eligibility:

  • Graduate
  • 5 years as Land Record Clerk
  • Hindi, Urdu, English

6. Internal Audit Officer (On Deputation)

Pay Level – 12 (₹78,800–2,09,200)

Requires drawing officers from Audit and Accounts Services or equivalent with matching grade experience.
Age Limit: Preferably below 56.


7. Internal Audit Officer (Direct)

Pay Level – 10 (₹56,100–1,77,500)

Must Have:

  • Minimum 10 years experience in audit/accounts/administration

9. Executive Engineer (Civil)

Eligibility:

  • Analogous post OR 3 years in lower grade in CPWD/State PWD/Semi-Govt/PSU/University

10 & 11. Assistant Engineer (Civil/Electrical)

Pay Level – 7 (₹44,900–1,42,400)

  • First class B.E/B.Tech relevant field
  • 3 years as Junior Engineer

12/13/14. Junior Engineer (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical)

  • B.E/B.Tech + 1 year experience

  • Master’s Degree in LIS
    OR

16. Library Attendant (06)

Pay Level – 1 (₹18,000–56,900)

  • 10+2
  • Certificate course in Library Science
  • 1-year library experience
  • Basic computer skills

17. Security Assistant (09)

Pay Level – 2 (₹19,900–63,200)

  • Intermediate/Army equivalent
  • Hindi/Urdu/English knowledge

Desirable: Ex-Army / Para-Military with:

  • 10th pass
  • ITI (Bakery/Confectionery) OR Diploma Cookery
  • 3 years catering experience at least 3-Star hotel/guest house/edu institution

General Rules & Recruitment Terms

JMI has issued very strict guidelines:

  1. Selection is based on written test / skill test / trade test / interview depending on each post.
  2. Reservation & age relaxation per Central Govt norms for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen.
  3. No upper age limit for regular JMI employees having 3+ years service.
  4. Qualification, experience, age cutoff = last date of application.
  5. Knowledge of Hindi & Urdu desirable for all posts.
  6. 5% relaxation (55% → 50%) in qualifying marks for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD.
  7. No canvassing: disqualification.
  8. Separate application per post.
  9. Employees must apply through proper channel.
  10. Experience/degree certificates must be self-attested.
