Assistant Mechanical Engineer, Assistant Electrical Engineer & Jr. Technical Assistant (Mech)

Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), one of the most strategically important railway entities in India, has announced a recruitment notification for technical professionals in its Mechanical/Projects Department. Known for its 756 km legendary rail line across the Western Ghats, Konkan Railway plays a critical role in seamless rail movement between Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka.

Under Notification No. CO/P-R/12C/2025, Konkan Railway invites applications for 4 vacancies on a fixed-term contract basis for one year. These posts offer excellent exposure to railway rolling stock maintenance, project execution, and technical operations.

Remuneration (City-wise)

consolidated monthly salary:

Important: Salary includes Basic Pay, DA, HRA, Conveyance, Mobile Allowance, etc.

Annual hike of 4% on consolidated pay after every year if contract is extended.

Additional Facilities & Allowances

As per the notification:

• Life insurance reimbursement: Up to ₹500/month
• Medical benefits:
  • ₹500/month OPD allowance
  • Health insurance premium reimbursement up to ₹500/month
• Travel facilities:
  • Junior Technical Assistant → Complimentary 3AC Railway Pass
  • Assistant Engineers → 2AC Railway Pass
• Hotel/Rest House: KRCL Rest House if available; otherwise paid reimbursement.
• Leave benefits:
  • 15 Earned Leave per 6 months (2.5/month)
  • 8 Casual Leaves yearly
  • Weekly offs & public holidays as applicable
  • No leave encashment

Assistant Electrical Engineer

Minimum Qualification

• Full time Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Electronics Engineering
• Minimum 60% marks

Mandatory Experience

• Degree holders: minimum 6 years
• Diploma holders: minimum 8 years in:
  • EMU / MEMU / loco maintenance / traction rolling stock maintenance
• Field experience in predictive/preventive maintenance preferred

Upper Age Limit

45 years as of 01.11.2025

Posting

Initially CO Office Belapur, later anywhere in India.

Assistant Mechanical Engineer

Minimum Qualification

• Full time Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Basic Eligibility

• Retired Executive in JS (Pay Level 10) with at least 2 years service from:
  • Indian Railways / Railway PSUs

Mandatory Experience

Experience in:

• POH / ROH / IOH of rolling stock
• LHB / Vande Bharat coach maintenance
• Railway workshops

Desirable Skills:

• Setting up maintenance facilities
• Cost estimation
• Tendering & commissioning
• MS Office automation

Upper Age Limit

63 years as of 01.11.2025

Job Responsibilities

• Workshop O&M estimation
• Liaison with Railway authorities
• Project execution monitoring
• Maintenance planning

Junior Technical Assistant (Mechanical)

Qualification

• Full time Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering
• Minimum 60% marks

Mandatory Experience

At least 2 years in:

• Manufacturing
• Fabrication
• Maintenance

You are with tender/contract billing knowledge get preference.

Upper Age Limit

40 years as of 01.11.2025

Selection Process — Walk-In Interview

No online exam.

• You are fulfilling eligibility may directly report for interview.
• You must bring:
  • Filled form (Annexure-A)
  • Original certificates
  • Self-attested copies

Registration Time

9:00 AM to 12:00 PM only on interview dates.

Walk-In Interview Schedule

You must be prepared to stay 2 days at own cost if required.

• 2 passport photos
• Ex-Servicemen documents (if any)
• Character certificate from Gazetted/Executive officer

Key Contract Terms

• Contract extendable based on performance and project needs.
• Transfers across projects anywhere in India.
• Standby panel maintained.
• Termination possible with 1 month notice or pay in lieu.
• Mandatory Indemnity Bond ₹50,000.
• No claim for permanent absorption.
• Must respond to emergency duties.
• Unauthorized absence → termination.
• Misuse of corporate resources → legal action.
