Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB), Bhopal has released the official Rule Book for Forest Guard (Vanrakshak), Field Guard, Jail Prahari, and Assistant Jail Superintendent Direct Recruitment Examination 2026.
This recruitment is being conducted for posts under:
- Forest Department (Vanrakshak & Field Guard – Executive)
- Jail Department (Jail Prahari & Assistant Jail Superintendent – Executive)

Forest Guard (Vanrakshak) Recruitment 2026 – 728 Posts
As per the rulebook (Page 4–5), Forest Department has announced 728 vacancies for Forest Guard posts.
Pay Scale
₹19,500 – ₹62,000
Educational Qualification
- 10+2 (Higher Secondary) passed from MP Board or recognized institution.
Reservation Highlights
- 30% Horizontal Reservation for Home Guard Volunteers
- 10% Reservation for Ex-Servicemen
- 1% Reservation for International/National level sportspersons
- 50% of posts reserved for Contract Employees (subject to eligibility)

Examination Pattern
The exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) Mode.

Exam Shifts
- Morning Shift: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Afternoon Shift: 03:00 PM – 05:00 PM
Reporting time is mandatory 1 hour before shift.
Biometric verification is compulsory.
Special Provisions for Special Tribal Groups (Baiga, Sahariya, Bhariya)
As per Page 7 of rulebook:
Candidates belonging to special tribal communities such as:
- Baiga
- Sahariya
- Bhariya
For Forest Guard post, if minimum qualification is fulfilled, direct appointment may be given without written examination (subject to department verification).
However, for Jail Department posts, no such exemption is provided.
Citizenship Criteria
Candidate must be:
- Indian Citizen
OR - Citizen of Nepal (with eligibility certificate)
Important Instructions
- Aadhaar registration mandatory.
- Original Photo ID required (Voter ID, PAN, Aadhaar, Passport, Driving License).
- Electronic devices strictly prohibited.
- Candidates must have live registration in MP Employment Office.
- All certificates will be verified at document verification stage.
