Northern Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2025 – Notification for 4116 Vacancies | Apply Online | Eligibility, ITI Trades, Selection & Full Details

The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Northern Railway, New Delhi, has released the official notification RRC/NR 05/2025 dated 18/11/2025, inviting online applications for 4116 Act Apprentice vacancies under the Apprentices Act 1961 for various Divisions, Units, and Workshops of Northern Railway.

This is a golden opportunity for you are a SSC/10th pass candidates with ITI to undergo 1-year training in different technical trades. After successful completion, you will receive a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by NCVT/SCVT.

• Delhi (DLI) Division
• Firozpur (FZR) Division

• Moradabad (MB Division)
• Bridge Workshops
• Carriage Workshops
• Diesel Sheds
• Electrical Departments
• Personnel Departments

• Fitter
• Welder
• Electrician
• Carpenter
• Machinist
• Painter
• Mechanic Diesel
• Wireman
• Computer Operator & Programming Assistant
• Turner
• Refrigeration & AC Mechanic

• Stenographer (English/Hindi)

Eligibility Criteria (as per Notification)

1. Educational Qualification

You must have:

• 10th/SSC/Matriculation with minimum 50% marks, AND
• ITI Certificate in relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT

Note:
You are awaiting results of 10th/ITI you are NOT eligible.

2. Age Limit (as on 24/12/2025)

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST: +5 years
• OBC: +3 years
• PwBD: +10 years
• Ex-Servicemen: +10 years (as per service period)

Selection Process (NO Exam, NO Interview)

1. Screening & Scrutiny of Applications

If we will be verified for eligibility, age, and correctness.

2. Merit List Based on Academic Marks

Merit will be prepared using:

• 50% weightage – 10th Class Marks
• 50% weightage – ITI Marks

If two candidates have the same marks:

• Older age preferred
• Earlier matriculation date considered

Important:
No written exam or viva will be conducted.

How Marks Are Calculated

For 10th Class:

If marks are given in grades, the midpoint will be used.

For ITI:

Average of all semesters’ marks will be used.

Backlogs, compartment marks, or incomplete certificates are not allowed.

Medical Fitness & Physical Standards

You must be medically fit as per:

• Apprentice Act 1961
• Apprenticeship Rules 1992

Medical Fitness Certificate must be issued by:

• Government Doctor (GAZETTED)
• Not below Assistant Surgeon rank

PwBD (Person with Disabilities) Eligibility

The notification gives Trade-wise & Disability-wise permissible levels.

Examples:

Locomotor Disability (LD)

• Fitter/Turner: Lower limb partially damaged
• Welder: One arm damaged allowed
• Electrician: Partially damaged limb allowed
• Machinist: Small finger damaged allowed

Visually Impaired (VI)

Only low vision categories allowed.

Hearing Impaired (HI)

• Deaf
• Dumb
• Deaf & Dumb

If you are PwBD you must upload:

• Valid certificate issued by competent authority
• Disability must match the trade applied

Training Details

• Training will be provided in assigned trade & unit
• Duration as per Apprentices Act & Railway Board rules
• Apprenticeship does NOT guarantee a job in Railways
• You must sign an Apprenticeship Agreement before joining

• Multiple applications = disqualification

• Railway may increase/decrease vacancies
• No TA/DA will be provided
• Misconduct, impersonation, fake documents = permanent debarment

• Wrong photo (cap, goggles, blurred)
• Incorrect documents
• Wrong community certificate
• No ITI or wrong trade certificate
