The Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited (PSTCL) has released a detailed public notice CRA No. 12/2025 inviting online applications for 61 vacancies across multiple technical and non-technical posts. These include Assistant Engineer (OT)/Electrical, Assistant Manager/IT, Accounts Officer, Divisional Accountant, Junior Engineer (Various branches), Law Officer Grade-II, Telephone Mechanic, Lower Division Clerk/Typist, and Lower Division Clerk (Accounts).

Educational Qualifications (Post-wise)

1. Assistant Engineer (OT)/Electrical

• Full-time regular B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc Engineering in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics
• Minimum 55% marks
• Degree must be AICTE-recognized
• OR AMIE (India) with 55% marks

Salary: ₹47,600/- (Level as per 7th CPC)

2. Assistant Manager / IT

• Full-time BE/B.Tech/B.Sc Engineering in Computer Science/IT with 60% marks
  OR
• Regular MCA with 60% marks
  OR
• Master’s Degree in IT (60% marks)

Salary: ₹47,600/-

3. Accounts Officer

• CA/CMA (Mandatory)

Salary: ₹47,600/-

4. Divisional Accountant

• B.Com with 60% marks
  OR
• M.Com with 50% marks
  OR
• CA Inter / CWA Inter

Salary: ₹35,400/-

5. Junior Engineer / Electrical

• Full-time regular 3 or 4-year diploma or B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc Engineering in Electrical / EEE
• Minimum 50%–60% marks depending on qualification type

Salary: ₹35,400/-

6. Junior Engineer / Civil

• Full-time regular diploma or B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 50%–60% marks

Salary: ₹35,400/-

7. Junior Engineer / Communication

• Diploma or Degree in Electronics / Telecommunication Engineering
• Minimum 50% marks (Degree) or 60% marks (Diploma)

Salary: ₹35,400/-

8. Law Officer Grade-II

Option A:

• Full-time Graduation in Law with 60% marks
• 3-years regular LLB

Option B:

• 5-year Integrated Law Degree with 60% marks
• 3 years’ experience in Legal matters

Salary: ₹35,400/-

9. Telephone Mechanic

• ITI / Electronics / Telecommunication
• OR 3/4 year Diploma in E&C Engineering
• Minimum 50% marks

Salary: ₹19,900/-

10. LDC / Typist

• Bachelor’s degree (50% marks)
  AND
• Certificate of 120 Hours Computer Course (DOEACC ‘O’ Level / Desktop Publishing / IT Productivity)
  AND
• Punjabi passed at Matric level

Salary: ₹19,900/-

11. LDC / Accounts

• B.Com with 50% marks
  AND same computer qualifications as above

Salary: ₹19,900/-

Age Limit (as on 01-01-2025)

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 37 years

Age Relaxation (Punjab Domicile Only)

• SC/ST/BC → +5 years
• Ex-Servicemen → Service years deducted + 3 years
• PwBD → +10 years
• Widows/Divorcees → Up to 40 years
• PSTCL/PSPCL/State Govt employees → As per rules (up to 45 years)

Knowledge of Punjabi (Mandatory)

You must have passed Punjabi at Matriculation level or equivalent before the last date of application.

Selection Process

ONLINE COMPUTER TEST (CBT)

Separate exam pattern for:

Group A & B Posts (Engineers, Accounts Officer, Law Officer)

100 MCQ questions:

Group C Posts (Telephone Mechanic, LDC/Typist, LDC/Accounts)

Exam divided into Part-I & Part-II:

Part-I (Qualifying Test): Punjabi Language – 50 Marks

• Must score 50% (25 marks)
• Failure = Disqualified

Part-II (Merit Test – 100 Questions)

Including:

• Technical / Related Subjects
• GK / General Awareness
• Punjabi
• Reasoning
• Numerical Aptitude
• English

Exam Duration & Marking Scheme

• Duration: 2 hours (Group A/B)
• Duration: 3 hours (Group C)
• +1 mark for correct answer
• -0.25 negative marking (¼)

Score Normalization (Multi-shift Exam)

If exam is held in multiple shifts, PSTCL will use a Normalization Formula based on:

• Average Shift Score
• Standard Deviation
• Highest Scoring Shift
