Safdarjung Hospital Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 – 84 Posts

Safdarjung Hospital & Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC), New Delhi has released an advertisement notice for filling up vacant posts of Senior Residents on an adhoc basis through walk-in-interview.

The appointment will initially be for 89 days and may be extended for another 89 days subject to satisfactory performance or until the post is filled on a regular basis, whichever is earlier.

A total of 84 vacancies have been notified across multiple specialties.

Additionally, 24 posts are reserved horizontally for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities as per Government of India rules.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following:

• MBBS degree recognized by NMC
• Post Graduate Degree/Diploma/DNB in concerned specialty
• Registration with Delhi Medical Council (DMC) before joining

For Dental specialties:

• MDS recognized by DCI
• Registration with Delhi Dental Council

Each department has clearly specified PG specialization requirements as mentioned in the notification.

Age Limit

• 45 years for General/EWS
• 48 years for OBC
• 50 years for SC/ST
• Age relaxation for PwBD as per Government rules

Age will be calculated as on the date of walk-in interview.

Pay Scale

Selected candidates will receive:

• ₹67,700 in Pay Level 11 (7th CPC)
• Pre-revised PB-3: ₹15,600–39,100 + ₹6,600 Grade Pay
• Other allowances as admissible

• EWS Certificate (issued on or after 01 April 2025)
• OBC Certificate (issued on or after 01 April 2025)
• Experience Certificate (if any)
• No Objection Certificate (if employed)
• One passport size photograph
• Duly filled application form (Annexure-I)

Incomplete applications will be rejected.

Contract Tenure & Conditions

• Initial appointment: 89 days
• Extendable for another 89 days
• Maximum total tenure: 3 years (including previous service as Senior Resident in Govt institutions)
• Inter-hospital transfer not allowed
• No claim for permanent appointment
• Service conditions as per Government of India rules

Selected candidates must collect appointment offer from Academic Section after result declaration.

Failure to accept within stipulated time will lead to cancellation and offer to next candidate.

• OBC certificate must be in prescribed DOPT format
• EWS certificate must be valid for 2025–26
