Eligibility Criteria
The crucial date for counting service is 01 July 2025.
1. Central Secretariat Stenographers Service (CSSS)
- You must be a regularly appointed Stenographer Grade ‘D’
- Minimum 6 years of approved service
- If you are appointed through competitive exam → Minimum 5 years continuous service
- You must possess computer literacy
Special relaxation is provided to Direct Recruit Steno Grade ‘D’ of Select List Year 2018.
2. Indian Foreign Service Branch (B)
- Minimum 6 years approved service
- Mandatory completion of training prescribed by Ministry of External Affairs
- For older officials → eligibility may be 5 years
3. Armed Forces Headquarters Stenographers Service
- Minimum 3 years approved & continuous service
- If appointed through competitive exam → 2 years service is sufficient
4. Railway Board Secretariat Stenographers Service
- Minimum 6 years approved service
- For officials holding Grade ‘D’ posts before commencement of rules → 3 years service
- Must have computer literacy
5. Election Commission of India Stenographers Service
- Minimum 3 years approved & continuous service
- If appointed through exam → minimum 2 years service
6. Central Vigilance Commission
- Minimum 5 years regular service in Grade ‘D’
Application Process
You must apply only through SSC New Website.
Step 1 – One Time Registration (OTR)
Visit: https://ssc.gov.in
Register with:
- Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN / Passport / Driving License
- Mobile Number (OTP verification)
- Email ID (OTP verification)
Step 2 – Online Application Form
- Capture LIVE PHOTO using mobile or webcam
- Upload scanned signature (10–20 KB)
- Upload service documents such as:
- First page of Service Book (attested)
- Certified service particulars
Step 3 – Forwarding Hard Copy
After final submission, print the application and forward it through proper channel to:
