WCL Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26 – 1213 Vacancies, Eligibility, Stipend, Selection Process, Apply Online, and Full Notification

Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), a Subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL) and a Mini Ratna company, has released the Notification No. WCL/HRD/Apprentice/Notification/2025-26/51, dated 10 November 2025, announcing 1213 Apprentice Vacancies for the FY 2025-26 under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

WCL invites online applications for Graduate Apprentices, Diploma Apprentices, Trade Apprentices, and Fresher Apprentices across Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh for a 12-month training period.

You must apply online through the official website westerncoal.in, and you are applying for Graduate/Diploma Trade you must also register on NATS, while Trade Apprentices must register on NAPS.

Who Can Apply?

As per the notification :

Only Indian Nationals who meet either of these:

• Passed their required Qualification from an Institute/University located in Maharashtra or Madhya Pradesh
  OR
• Permanent resident of Maharashtra or Madhya Pradesh
  (Domicile certificate required)

Trade Apprentice preference:

You are residing in the same district where the establishment is located get priority.

Educational Qualification & Stipend (Post-wise)

1. Graduate Apprentice

Stipend: ₹12,300/month
Post: Bachelor in Mining Engineering
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech Mining Engineering

2. Technician (Diploma) Apprentice

Stipend: ₹10,900/month
Qualification:

• Diploma in Mining
• Diploma in Mining & Mine Surveying

3. Trade Apprentices (ITI Trades)

Stipend: ₹10,560 to ₹11,040/month depending on trade

Age Limit (as on 01 August 2025)

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 26 years
  (Born between 02/08/1999 – 02/08/2007)

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST: +5 years
• OBC-NCL: +3 years
• PwBD: +10 years (SC/ST: +15 years)

Total Vacancies – 1213

Graduate & Diploma Apprentices (WCL HQ)

• Graduate Mining: 101
• Diploma Mining/Survey: 215
  Total = 316

Trade Apprentices (Area-wise)

Area-wise vacancies include:

Total Trade Apprentices = 897

Grand Total = 316 + 897 = 1213 Vacancies

PwBD Eligibility & Disability Suitability

WCL defines disability suitability based on Government norms (Table-3) for each trade, such as:

• OL, BL, HH, LV, CP, OA, AAV, etc.

You must submit a valid Disability Certificate as per RPwD Act, 2016 (Annexure 2).

Important Eligibility Conditions

As per the notification :

Qualification must be:

• Regular full-time
• No distance/correspondence courses allowed

Passed in:

• Academic year 2022-23 or later

Not Eligible if:

• Already completed apprenticeship
• Currently undergoing apprenticeship
• Having 1 year or more job experience

For Security Guard Trade:

Special physical standards (height, eyesight, chest, hearing) apply.

Selection Process

Graduate / Diploma Apprentices

• Merit based on marks scored in qualifying degree/diploma.

ITI Trade Apprentices

• Merit based on average marks in:
  • 10th Standard
  • ITI Trade Certificate

Security Guard (Fresher Trade)

• Merit based on 10th marks only

Tie-breaking Criteria

1. Older candidate preferred
2. Higher 10th marks preferred

Final Selection

• Document Verification
• Medical Fitness test (Form O under Mines Rules 1955)
• Contract approval via NATS/NAPS

• Apprentices cannot claim permanent employment in WCL
