Eligibility Criteria – WBBPE Special Education Teacher 2025

Eligibility is strictly based on WBBPE Primary School Special Education Teachers Recruitment Rules, 2025.

1. Citizenship

You must be a citizen of India.

2. Educational Qualification (Mandatory)

As per Gazette Notification:

• You must possess Special Education qualifications recognized by
  • RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India)
  • NCTE
• Must have completed required training as per Govt. of India guidelines
• Qualifications must be valid on or before the date of advertisement

You  have:

• B.Ed. in Special Education
  or
• Diploma in Special Education
  or
• Elementary Education training with Special Education specialization

3. TET Qualification

• If you  have already passed Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by WBBPE you may apply.
• If you have earlier qualified TET you are not required to pay fee again.

Certificates must match NCTE norms.

4. Age Limit

As per Gazette (Rules, 2025):

• Minimum Age: 20 years
• Maximum Age: 40 years

Age relaxation:

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC-A & OBC-B: 3 years
• PwBD: 10 years
• Government employees: as per rules

Upper age for Ex-Servicemen may extend up to 55 years.

Salary Structure

Special Education Teachers are appointed under West Bengal Primary School Council.

Salary includes:

If you are already has valid TET certificate → may be exempted.
