The Government of Andhra Pradesh, through the District Women Development and Child Welfare Department (WDCW), Visakhapatnam, has released the official Notification No. C-424953/2025/SA is inviting applications for the post of Anganwadi Helper under various ICDS Projects in the district.
If you are an Eligible woman candidate from a local village, you are invited to apply between 03 October 2025 and 14 October 2025 (up to 5:00 PM).

The recruitment will be conducted in accordance with existing government rules and guidelines as per G.O.Ms. No.21 (24.08.2007) and G.O.Ms No.38 (03.11.2008).

A total of 53 vacancies are available across various ICDS project areas, including Bheemunipatnam, Pendurthi, and Visakhapatnam.
Each vacancy is reserved according to the roster system—Open, SC, ST, BC, and EWS categories.
For example:

• Bheemunipatnam Project – 11 Vacancies
• Pendurthi Project – 21 Vacancies
• Visakhapatnam Urban Project – 21 Vacancies

Job Description

Anganwadi Helpers play a vital role in supporting the functioning of Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme.
If you are selected, you are duties include:

• Assisting Anganwadi Workers in preschool education and nutrition programs.
• You are maintaining cleanliness and hygiene at the AWC.
• You are helping distribute supplementary nutrition and assisting in community awareness activities.
• You are supporting record-keeping and beneficiary services for children and women.

This is a community-based honorary position, offering an opportunity for you to contribute to child and women’s welfare programs at the grassroots level.

Salary

I you are selected, you will receive a monthly honorarium of ₹7,000/- as per the government norms mentioned in G.O.Ms.. No.18, WDCW&DW (ICDS) Department, dated 15.05.2015.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Local Resident

• You must be a married woman and a permanent resident of the village/ward where the Anganwadi Centre is located.

2. Educational Qualification

• The minimum qualification is 7th Class Pass.
• If no eligible 7th-class passed candidate is available, higher-qualified candidates may be considered.

3. Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 35 years
  (as on 01.07.2025)

4. Category Reservation

• Posts are reserved for OC/SC/ST/BC/EWS categories as per the Government of Andhra Pradesh reservation policy.
• You must attach valid caste/community certificates issued by a competent authority.

5. Preference Criteria (as per G.O.Ms No.18, Dt. 15.05.2015)

Selection Process

The District Selection Committee, headed by the District Collector and Chairman, will conduct the selection.

• You will be shortlisted based on merit, qualification, and eligibility.
• The final selection will include an Oral Interview (20 marks).
• Priority will be given to residents of the same village/ward.
• The results and interview schedules will be notified later by the District ICDS office.

   • Voter ID
   • Educational Certificates
   • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
   • EWS/Disability Certificate (if applicable)
4. Submit the Application
   • Submit the filled form with enclosures either in person or by post to the office of the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of the concerned ICDS Project (Bheemunipatnam / Pendurthi / Visakhapatnam).
   • The office will issue a receipt acknowledging your application.
