Nagaland Police Constable (GD) Recruitment 2025 – 1176 Posts

The Nagaland Police Department has officially announced the recruitment of 1176 Constable (GD) posts exclusively for Indigenous Tribes of Nagaland (male/female). This recruitment is being conducted through an Open Rally system under the supervision of the Departmental Recruitment Board (DRB) and District Screening Committees (DSC) across all districts. Non-Indigenous applicants are strictly not eligible.

The recruitment is aimed at strengthening the police force across Nagaland while ensuring fair representation from all tribal communities. If you are interested you must carefully follow the eligibility criteria, physical and medical standards, and selection procedures to participate.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

  • Minimum: 18 years
  • Maximum: 38 years (one-time relaxation as per government rules)
  • Age concession may be provided to serving government employees as per official notifications.

Educational Qualification

  • Backward Tribes: Class-6 Passed Certificate or higher.
  • Other Indigenous Naga Tribes: Class-8 Passed Certificate or higher.
  • Certificates must be from NBSE or equivalent recognized Boards in India.

District Eligibility

  • Candidates can apply for only one district according to the tribal quota specified.
  • They must appear for all physical, medical, and written tests in the district they apply for.

You must also undergo medical examination for:

  • Eye vision and color blindness
  • Knocked knees, flat feet, squint eye, deformities
  • Hearing ability
  • Pregnancy test for female candidates
  • Opioid and alcohol abuse tests

You are failing any medical standard will be disqualified from the recruitment process.


Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The PET is only for who are qualify the Physical/Medical Standards Test.

You have 3 attempts for High Jump and Long Jump. Marks are allocated based on performance.


Written Examination

  • Type: MCQ
  • Total Questions: 80
  • Maximum Marks: 40
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Language: English
  • Subjects: General Knowledge, Science, Indian History, Indian Polity, Social Sciences, Elementary Mathematics, Sports, Naga Culture, Heritage, and Mental Aptitude.

If you are qualify in Physical/Medical Standards and PET you  will be eligible for the written exam.

Merit List & Waiting List

  • Merit list is prepared as per tribal ratio.
  • A waiting list (10:1 ratio) will be maintained for 90 days from final result declaration.
  • You are on the waiting list you will not have preferential rights in future recruitments.

Required Documents

You must upload self-attested photocopies online and produce originals during the rally:

  • Proof of educational qualification
  • Proof of identity (Aadhaar/PAN/Driving License)
  • Certificate of Indigenous Inhabitant / Scheduled Tribe / Backward Tribe
  • Proof of date of birth (Birth Certificate / Matriculation)
  • NOC from the Head of Department (if employed in Government/Public Undertakings)

Other Important Instructions

  • You can appear at your own expense; no TA/DA will be provided.
  • Mobile phones and electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited.
  • Recruitment rallies and tests will be videographed for transparency.
  • If you are selected you may initially be deployed in IR Battalions and serve anywhere in Nagaland.
