SBI PO Recruitment 2026 Notification – 1500 Probationary Officer Vacancies Announced

State Bank of India (SBI) has released the official notification for the recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) for the year 2026-27. SBI has announced 1500 vacancies for the post of Probationary Officer across India. Graduates from any recognized university are eligible to apply. The online application process has started from 18 June 2026 and will continue until 08 July 2026. Candidates will be selected through a three-stage recruitment process consisting of Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Interview with Group Exercise.

Candidates must possess:

• Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University.
• Final year/semester students can also apply.
• Final year candidates must produce proof of passing graduation on or before 30 September 2026.
• Candidates possessing Engineering, Medical, CA, Cost Accountant and equivalent qualifications are also eligible.

Selection will be conducted in three phases:

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination

Phase-II: Main Examination

Objective Test

Descriptive Test

Duration: 30 Minutes

Phase-III

Negative Marking

• 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• No penalty for unanswered questions.

Final Merit Calculation

Preliminary Examination marks will not be included in the final merit list.

Probation Period & Bond

Selected candidates:

• Will undergo a probation period of 2 years.
• Must execute a service bond of ₹2,00,000.
• Required to serve SBI for a minimum of 3 years.
• Bond amount becomes payable if the candidate resigns before completion of the bond period.
