RSSB Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026 –  Notification, 874 Posts, Eligibility, Exam Pattern, Apply Online

The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), Jaipur has released the Junior Engineer Combined Direct Recruitment 2026 notification for recruitment to various Junior Engineer posts in different departments of the Rajasthan Government. The recruitment is being conducted under Advertisement No. 10/2026.

A total of 874 Junior Engineer vacancies have been announced for the Public Works Department, Water Resources Department and Public Health Engineering Department. The vacancies include Junior Engineer (Civil) for Degree holders, Junior Engineer (Civil) for Diploma holders and Junior Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) for Diploma holders. The notification specifically states that candidates applying for different post cadres have to submit separate applications for each post cadre. Candidates are also required to indicate their preferred department while filling the online application. Educational Qualification

1. Junior Engineer (Civil) – Degree

Candidates applying for Junior Engineer (Civil) Degree posts must possess a Degree in Civil Engineering from a university established by law in India or from an institution recognized by the Government as equivalent.

Candidates must also have practical knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthan’s culture.

2. Junior Engineer (Civil) – Diploma

Candidates applying for Junior Engineer (Civil) Diploma posts must possess a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution or a Civil Engineering Diploma recognized by the Institution of Engineers for the relevant purpose.

Practical knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthan culture are also required.

3. Junior Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) – Diploma

For Junior Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) Diploma posts, candidates must possess a Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Institution of Engineers for the specified purpose.

Candidates appearing in the final year of the prescribed qualification can apply, but they must obtain the required qualification by the date of the recruitment examination.

Age Limit

The age calculation is based on 1 January 2027. According to the notification, the candidate must have completed 18 years of age and must not have attained 40 years of age on 1 January 2027, subject to the applicable relaxation provisions.

Age relaxation is available to eligible categories according to Rajasthan Government rules. Important relaxations mentioned in the notification include:

• Rajasthan domicile SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS male candidates: 5 years.
• General-category female candidates: 5 years.
• Rajasthan domicile SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS female candidates: 10 years.

Selection Process

The RSSB Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026 selection process is primarily based on the recruitment examination followed by the applicable verification and appointment formalities.

For the technical section, the syllabus varies according to the post and qualification. Civil Engineering topics include areas such as construction, structural engineering, surveying, soil and foundation engineering, water supply, sanitation, highways and bridges and other relevant civil engineering subjects. Salary

The Junior Engineer post carries Pay Matrix Level-10 under the Rajasthan Government pay structure. During the probation period, the fixed remuneration and other applicable conditions will be governed by the State Government rules.

The notification states that direct recruits will generally undergo a two-year probation period. During probation, fixed remuneration will be paid according to government rules rather than the regular pay scale, and applicable allowances are governed by the relevant provisions.
