JKSSB Recruitment 2026: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 08 of 2026 dated 04 August 2026 for recruitment to various UT, Divisional and District Cadre posts in different departments of Jammu & Kashmir. A total of 518 vacancies have been advertised under the Agriculture Production, Health & Medical Education, Higher Education, and Labour & Employment Departments.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Eligibility

1. Domicile

Candidates applying for the advertised posts must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

A valid J&K Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority must be available on or before the cut-off date, which is 09 October 2026, unless the closing date is extended by the Board.

2. Age Limit

The age requirement is calculated as on 01 January 2026.

For OM candidates, the prescribed birth-date range is from 01 January 1986 to 01 January 2008, while the other listed categories generally have a maximum age of 43 years.

The notification also provides an age-related provision for Ex-Servicemen, under which the period of Armed Forces service may be deducted from actual age subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.

Educational Qualification

Educational qualification differs according to the post.

• Senior Canning Attendant: Matric or equivalent with six months’ training in Fruit Preservation.
• Horticulture Technician Grade-IV: 10+2 with one year Basic Horticulture training.
• Health Educator: Graduation with Science from a recognised university.
• Sanitary Inspector: 10+2 or above with minimum two-year Diploma in Sanitation and Public Health.
• Junior Pharmacist: Minimum 10+2 with Science along with Degree/Diploma in Pharmacy.
• Para Medical Assistant: 10+2 with Diploma in Para Medical Assistant Course.
• Junior Theatre Technician: Matric or above with Degree/Diploma in Operational Theatre Technology.
• Junior Ophthalmic Technician: Matric or above with Degree/Diploma in Ophthalmic Technician.
• Junior Lab. Technician: Matric or above with minimum two-year Diploma in Lab Technician or Degree in Lab Technology.
• Junior Staff Nurse: Matric or above with Science and Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery.
• FMPHW: Matric or above with Science and Diploma in FMPHW.
• MMPHW: Matric or above with minimum one-year or above Diploma in MMPHW.
• Junior Laboratory Assistant: Graduate with Science; preference is given to candidates with a relevant postgraduate diploma in professional laboratory course.
• Supervisor: Matriculation or equivalent examination from a recognised University or Board.

The exact qualification must always be matched with the specific Item Number and cadre for which the candidate is applying.

For Horticulture posts, the required training certificate must be issued by a recognised government/statutory/recognised institution as specified in the notification.

Application Fee

Candidates have to pay the application fee through online mode.

The fee can be paid through Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card. Applications submitted without the prescribed fee will be rejected, and the fee once paid will not normally be refunded or adjusted against another examination.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection process is primarily based on the Written/OMR Examination.

The notification states that the examination will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions and the questions will be set in English Language only. There will also be negative marking of one-fourth of the marks assigned to the question for every wrong answer.

Selection Stages

Step 1 – Online Application

Eligible candidates submit their application online within the prescribed dates.

Step 2 – Written/OMR Examination

Candidates whose applications are provisionally accepted will be assigned roll numbers and issued admit cards/roll number slips.

Step 3 – Merit
