RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026 – 590 Vacancies, Apply Online, Eligibility, Salary, Selection Process

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released CEN No. 05/2026 for the recruitment of various Para-Medical Categories in Indian Railways. According to the detailed notification, a total of 590 vacancies are available across different Railway Recruitment Boards and Railway Zones. The notified posts include Nursing Superintendent, Dialysis Technician, Health & Malaria Inspector Grade II, Audiologist & Speech Therapist, Pharmacist (Entry Grade), Radiographer X-Ray Technician, ECG Technician, Optometrist and Lab Assistant Grade II.

The online application process has started on 15 September 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official RRB website. The last date to submit the online application is 14 October 2026 up to 11:59 PM. 

RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026 – Notification Overview

The detailed CEN states that vacancies are provisional and may increase or decrease depending on the requirements of the concerned Railway Administration.

RRB Paramedical Vacancy 2026

The recruitment notification contains 590 vacancies across nine different Para-Medical categories. The post-wise vacancy, pay level and age details are given below.

RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026 Eligibility

Educational Qualification

Candidates must already possess the prescribed educational, technical or professional qualification from a recognized institution on or before 14 October 2026. Candidates waiting for the final result of the required qualification are not eligible to apply.

The major post-wise qualification requirements are as follows:

Nursing Superintendent

Candidates should have a Certificate as Registered Nurse and Midwife after passing a three-year General Nursing and Midwifery course from a school/institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council or B.Sc Nursing.

Dialysis Technician

Candidates should have B.Sc plus Diploma in Haemodialysis or two years of satisfactory in-house training/experience in Haemodialysis work in a reputed institution. Certain B.Sc Dialysis-related degree qualifications mentioned in the notification are also eligible.

Health & Malaria Inspector Grade II

Candidates should have B.Sc with Chemistry as a Main/Optional subject, along with a one-year Diploma in Health/Sanitary Inspector or one-year NTC in Health Sanitary Inspector awarded by NCVT.

Audiologist & Speech Therapist

Candidates should have Bachelor in Audiology, Speech Language Pathology (BASLP) from a recognized university and registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

ECG Technician

The notification specifies 10+2/Graduation in Science with Certificate/Diploma/Degree in ECG Laboratory Technology, Cardiology, Cardiology Technician or Cardiology Techniques from a reputed institution. The certificate should have a minimum duration of one year.

Optometrist

Candidates should have B.Sc in Optometry or Diploma in Ophthalmic Technician, with the course duration requirement mentioned in the notification. Registration with the concerned Council/Licensing body is also required.

Lab Assistant Grade II

Candidates should have 12th/10+2 in Science plus DMLT, or an eligible Certificate Course in Medical Laboratory Technology meeting the conditions specified in the notification. The notification also mentions B.Sc Medical Lab Technology along with 12th Science as an eligible qualification.

Important: For Pharmacist and Radiographer X-Ray Technician, candidates should refer specifically to Annexure-A of CEN 05/2026 for the complete prescribed qualification and other post-specific requirements before applying. The notification itself directs candidates to Annexure-A for post parameters.

Age Limit

The age will be calculated as on 01 January 2027. The basic age range differs according to the post. The notification gives age groups of 18–33, 19–33, 20–33, 21–30, 20–35 and 20–40 years for the different posts.

Age Relaxation

The notification states that where a candidate qualifies for age relaxation on more than one ground, the maximum applicable relaxation will be allowed rather than cumulative relaxation.

Application Fee

The examination fee is different for general candidates and candidates eligible for concession.

Only candidates who appear in the CBT will receive the applicable refund. The fee must be paid online through internet banking, debit/credit card or UPI.

RRB Paramedical Selection Process 2026

The recruitment process includes a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by Document Verification and other applicable stages.

The Single Stage CBT will consist of 100 questions for 100 marks and will generally have a duration of 90 minutes. Eligible PwBD/PWD candidates using the scribe facility will get the applicable extended duration specified in the notification.

CBT Exam Pattern

There is negative marking of 1/3 mark for every wrong answer.

The minimum qualifying marks specified in the notification are 40% for UR/EWS, 30% for OBC-NCL/SC and 25% for ST. The notification also contains a provision concerning relaxation for PwBD candidates in specified circumstances.

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CBT performance will proceed to the subsequent recruitment stages, including Document Verification and medical requirements applicable to the post.

RRB Paramedical Exam Syllabus

The detailed syllabus is given in Annexure-C of CEN 05/2026. Professional Ability carries the largest indicative share of CBT questions.

Professional subjects vary according to the post. For example, the Nursing Superintendent syllabus includes Anatomy, Physiology, Nutrition, Biochemistry, Nursing Foundations, Pharmacology, Pathology, Community Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing and other nursing-related subjects. Pharmacist candidates have a detailed pharmacy syllabus, while Radiographer candidates have subjects such as Radiology Physics, X-Ray Machines, Clinical Radiography, Imaging Modalities and Radiation Safety.

Candidates should therefore prepare the post-specific professional syllabus along with General Awareness, Arithmetic, Reasoning and General Science.

Candidates can apply online by following these steps:

1. Visit the official RRB website.
2. Open the link for CEN 05/2026 – Para-Medical Categories.
3. Read the detailed notification carefully.
4. Create an RRB account if required.
5. Candidates who already created an account for earlier RRB CENs should use the same credentials.
6. Enter the required personal, educational and other details.
7. Select only one RRB and provide post/zone preferences for eligible posts.
8. Select the examination language.
9. Complete identity authentication as applicable.
10. Upload/provide the required photograph/live photo and signature according to the prescribed instructions.
11. Check all entered details carefully.
12. Submit the application.
13. Pay the applicable examination fee online.
14. Save/print the submitted application and payment confirmation for future reference.

The notification specifically states that candidates must use the application link provided through the official RRB website. A valid personal mobile number and active email ID are required, and the details entered during account creation cannot subsequently be changed.
