The CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CMERI) has officially released the Technician (Group-II) Recruitment Notification 2026 under Advertisement No. 01/2026. Eligible candidates with 10th Pass + ITI qualification can apply online for 27 Technician vacancies in various trades including Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Machinist, Foundryman, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle/Diesel), and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.

CSIR-CMERI Technician Vacancy 2026

A total of 27 Technician (Group-II) vacancies have been announced.

Reservation is applicable as per Government of India rules. Two posts are horizontally reserved for Ex-Servicemen.

Salary Details

Selected candidates will receive salary under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.

Apart from salary, employees will receive Central Government allowances, LTC, medical reimbursement, accommodation (subject to availability), and promotional opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy the educational qualification prescribed for the respective trade.

Educational Qualification

Applicants should possess:

• 10th Pass (SSC) with Science subjects
• Minimum 55% Marks
• ITI Certificate in relevant trade

OR

• 10th Pass with Science
• Two years Apprentice Training

OR

• 10th Pass with Science
• Three years work experience in the relevant trade under Government Department, PSU or Autonomous Body.

Candidates should possess qualification from recognized institutions only.

CSIR-CMERI Technician Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

Stage 1: Screening of Applications

• Online applications will be scrutinized by the Screening Committee.
• Only eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the Trade Test.

Stage 2: Trade Test

• Trade Test will be conducted in the relevant trade.
• The Trade Test is qualifying in nature.
• Marks obtained in the Trade Test will not be considered for the final merit list.

Stage 3: Competitive Written Examination

Candidates qualifying the Trade Test will be called for the Written Examination.

Stage 4: Document Verification

Original certificates and documents will be verified.

Stage 5: Medical Examination

Selected candidates must be medically fit before appointment.

The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in Paper-II and Paper-III of the written examination.

Paper-II

• 1 mark negative for each wrong answer.

Paper-III

• 1 mark negative for each wrong answer.
