DRDO RCI Paid Internship Recruitment 2026 Notification Out – Apply for 160 Internship Vacancies

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), through its prestigious Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad, has released an official notification inviting applications for Paid Internship opportunities for Engineering and Science students. This internship program offers an excellent opportunity for final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students to gain practical experience in advanced defence technologies and research projects.

Research Centre Imarat (RCI) is one of the premier laboratories under DRDO and serves as the modern avionics hub of India. It contributes significantly to missile systems, defence avionics, guidance technologies, radar systems, embedded systems, robotics, and other cutting-edge defence research programs.

Students selected for this internship program will receive a monthly stipend and get the opportunity to work alongside experienced scientists and researchers on real-world defence projects. The internship duration is a minimum of six months and will be conducted at RCI, Hyderabad.

Undergraduate Internship (B.Tech VII & VIII Semester Students)

Postgraduate Internship (M.Tech / M.Sc Students)

Educational Qualification

Applicants must fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

• Must be an Indian Citizen.
• Must be pursuing full-time Engineering or Science courses from a recognized University or Institution.
• Only Final Year students are eligible.
• Students should have a consistently good academic record.
• Candidates should have obtained at least 75% marks or equivalent CGPA.
• The college or institution must be approved by AICTE/UGC.

Age Limit

Applicants should be below 28 years of age.

Stipend Details

Selected interns will receive:

• Monthly Stipend: ₹5,000
• Internship Duration: Minimum 6 Months
• Attendance Requirement: Minimum 15 working days per month.

The stipend will be paid directly to the student’s bank account in two installments:

1. First installment after completion of 3 months.
2. Second installment after completion of 6 months.

Internship Duration

The internship will be conducted for a minimum period of six months.

For M.Tech and M.Sc students, the internship/project work may be extended by another 4–6 months without payment of an additional stipend.

Selection Process

The selection process includes:

1. Screening of Applications.
2. Academic Performance Evaluation.
3. CGPA/Percentage Assessment.
4. Online Interview or Interaction (if required).
5. Document Verification.

Selection will be based purely on merit.

• Internship does not guarantee employment in DRDO.
• Students must strictly follow laboratory rules and security guidelines.
• Any disciplinary misconduct may result in immediate termination.
• Incomplete applications will be rejected.
• Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
