DTL Recruitment 2026 – Assistant Manager Trainee Recruitment for 65 Posts, Eligibility, Selection Process & Apply Online

Delhi Transco Limited (DTL) has released a recruitment notification for the appointment of Assistant Manager (Technical) Trainee – Electrical, Assistant Manager (Technical) Trainee – Non-Electrical and Assistant Manager (Civil) Trainee posts. A total of 65 vacancies are available under this recruitment drive.

The recruitment will be conducted through GATE 2026 scores, and only candidates possessing a valid GATE 2026 score will be considered. GATE scores from 2025 or earlier are not valid for this recruitment. The selected candidates will initially be appointed as trainees in Pay Level-09, and after successful completion of one year of training, they will be absorbed as Assistant Managers in Pay Level-10.

Educational Qualification

1. Assistant Manager (Technical) Trainee – Electrical

Candidates should possess a Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.

The notification recognizes certain equivalent disciplines such as Electrical Power, Electrical and Electronics, Power Systems Engineering and Power Engineering (Electrical), subject to the conditions specified in the advertisement.

2. Assistant Manager (Technical) Trainee – Non-Electrical

Candidates should have a degree in:

• Electronics & Communication Engineering
• Information Technology
• Computer Science & Engineering

or recognized equivalent qualifications.

For the corresponding essential qualification, the notification provides relaxation to pass marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD categories where applicable.

3. Assistant Manager (Civil) Trainee

Candidates should possess a Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.

The notification mentions two years of experience in design and construction of reinforced concrete structures, heavy machine foundations and masonry structures as desirable experience for the Civil post.

All qualifications should be from an Indian University/Institute recognized by AICTE or the appropriate statutory authority.

Age Limit

The maximum age prescribed for the recruitment is 28 years as on the last date for receipt of applications.

Reservation Rules

Reservation is available for SC/ST/EWS/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwBD candidates according to Government guidelines.

An important point for applicants is that the category selected in the application form cannot subsequently be changed. Candidates seeking reservation or age relaxation must possess the required valid certificate from the competent authority by the prescribed cut-off date.

The notification specifically states that only eligible OBC (Delhi) candidates notified by GNCTD will receive the applicable OBC reservation/age relaxation benefits under the stated rules. OBC candidates from outside Delhi are to be treated as Unreserved candidates for this recruitment, subject to the conditions in the notification.

DTL Salary and Pay Scale

Selected candidates will initially be appointed as Assistant Manager (Technical) Trainee or Assistant Manager (Civil) Trainee in Pay Level-09 with Central DA pattern and other benefits such as House Rent/Accommodation, Conveyance Facility, Medical and LTC, as applicable under DTL rules.

The trainees will undergo one year of training. After successfully completing the prescribed training and assessment, candidates will be absorbed as Assistant Manager (T)/Assistant Manager (Civil) in Pay Level-10, along with applicable allowances.

DTL Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection process is based on the candidate’s GATE 2026 score in the relevant paper.

GATE Paper Codes

• Electrical: GATE Paper Code EE
• Non-Electrical: GATE Paper Code EC and/or CS, as applicable
• Civil: GATE Paper Code CE

Separate merit lists will be prepared for Electrical, Non-Electrical and Civil categories.

The final selection will be made on the basis of merit derived from the GATE 2026 normalized score out of 100 according to the approved selection criteria.

There is an important seniority arrangement for Assistant Manager (Technical) candidates. The overall inter-se seniority between Electrical and Non-Electrical streams will follow a 9:1 ratio, with nine Electrical candidates followed by one Non-Electrical candidate according to their respective merit positions. Civil candidates will form a separate cadre and their seniority will be based on their merit order.

One-Year Training

Selected candidates will undergo one year of training, divided into:

• 3 months academic training through NPTI or another training institute as per DTL policy.
• 9 months field/on-job training in DTL substations/offices.

Quarterly reviews will be conducted during training. After completion of one year, a final assessment will be conducted. Candidates must secure at least 65% marks in the final assessment for absorption. Candidates failing to achieve the qualifying marks will not be absorbed and their services will be terminated, subject to the representation provision mentioned in the notification.

DTL Service Agreement Bond

Selected candidates will have to execute a service agreement bond requiring them to successfully complete the prescribed training and serve the organization for at least three years thereafter.

This is an important condition that candidates should understand before accepting the appointment.

Eligible candidates have to complete the online application on the official DTL website.

The recent passport-size color photograph should have a white background and should not be more than three months old. It must be uploaded in JPG/JPEG format and should be between 20 KB and 50 KB.

The signature should be made in black ink against a white background. It should also be uploaded in JPG/JPEG format and should be between 10 KB and 20 KB. Candidates should ensure that the uploaded signature is clear and consistent because variation in signatures may lead to cancellation of candidature.

DTL Application Fee

The application fee is ₹500, wherever applicable, and is non-refundable.

SC, ST and PwBD candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee.

The fee has to be paid through Demand Draft in favour of Delhi Transco Limited, payable at New Delhi. The notification clearly states that there is no other mode of payment of the registration fee.

Candidates are required to send the hard copy of the application along with the relevant supporting documents through Speed Post.
