MeECL Graduate Apprenticeship Eligibility 2026

Candidates should satisfy all the conditions mentioned in the official notification.

1. Educational Qualification

Applicants should possess the required graduate qualification in the relevant stream. The notification covers:

  • B.A. – Arts Stream
  • BA LLB – Law Stream
  • B.Sc. – Science Stream
  • B.Com. – Commerce Stream

The notification specifically allows candidates whose year of passing is 2024, 2025 or 2026. Candidates who passed the qualifying examination before 2024 are not eligible. 

2. Meghalaya Residency

The applicant should be a resident of Meghalaya. This is an important eligibility condition and candidates from outside Meghalaya should not assume that they are eligible merely because they possess the required degree.

3. NATS Registration

Candidates must register with the Board of Practical Training through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) and possess a valid enrolment ID.

The notification states that the NATS enrolment should be completed within the specified period of three years after passing the qualifying examination. 

4. Previous Experience

A graduate who has already undergone training or has one year or more of job/training experience after obtaining the relevant qualification is not eligible under the Apprentices Act provisions mentioned in the notification. 


MeECL Graduate Apprentice Age Limit

Candidates must be at least 18 years old and not more than 24 years old as on 31st May 2026. Age relaxation is applicable to SC/ST/OBC, Persons with Disability and Ex-Servicemen as per the applicable Government of India rules. 


MeECL Graduate Apprenticeship Selection Process

The official advertisement does not provide a conventional written examination-based selection process. Instead, candidates should understand that applications will be scrutinized and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for original certificate verification at their own cost. The notification clearly states that no travelling allowance, transport or accommodation will be provided for certificate verification. 

Candidates who are selected and found physically fit will have to execute an apprenticeship contract with the employer. The selection letter will be issued to candidates who sign the apprentice contract form.

MeECL Apprentice Stipend

Selected Graduate Apprentices will receive a stipend of Rs. 12,300 per month.

The apprenticeship training period is one year from the date of agreement. 

The continuation of stipend is subject to satisfactory work and conduct. The notification also states that apprentices must attend training regularly and follow the applicable working timings, holidays and disciplinary requirements of MeECL.
