The Scale I posts have age limits generally ranging from 21–30 years, while Civil Engineer has an age range of 25–30 years.


Educational Qualification and Eligibility

Candidates must satisfy the post-specific educational qualification, professional certification and work-experience requirements mentioned for the particular position. The main notification specifically directs candidates to Annexure-I for the detailed eligibility criteria.

Therefore, candidates should not apply merely because they possess a general graduation or engineering degree. They must check the exact requirements for the selected specialist stream before submitting the application.

Important eligibility conditions include:

  • Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification and experience for the post.
  • Candidates can apply for only one post.
  • Candidates who previously held a similar post in Bank of India are not eligible.

Bank of India Salary / Pay Scale

The basic pay scales mentioned in the notification are:

Selected candidates will also be required to deposit a security amount, refundable after three years of satisfactory service, subject to the conditions specified in the notification: ₹1 lakh for JMGS-I, ₹2 lakh for MMGS-II and ₹3 lakh for MMGS-III and above.

Selection Process

The selection process will be conducted through Online Examination and/or Personal Interview, depending on the number of applicants and eligible candidates.

English is qualifying in nature and its marks are not included in the merit list. The minimum qualifying marks are 35% for General/EWS candidates, with a 5% relaxation for eligible SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates applying against reserved vacancies.

There is also a 1/4 mark penalty for every wrong answer in the objective tests. No penalty is imposed for unanswered questions.

Personal Interview

The interview carries 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks are:

  • General/EWS: 50%
  • SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates against reserved vacancies: 45%

Normally, candidates may be called for interview in a ratio of 1:3 to the number of vacancies, although the Bank may modify this ratio.

If both the online examination and interview are conducted, the final weightage is:

Online Examination : Interview = 60 : 40

If the Bank decides not to conduct the online examination, final selection may be made through the personal interview alone.
