Consultant (GDMO) Vacancies

MCL has clearly mentioned that the number of vacancies may increase or decrease depending on organizational requirements.

Name of the Posts

The recruitment notification includes the following posts:

1. Consultant (Medical Specialist – Specialization Name)
2. Consultant (GDMO)

These posts are purely contractual in nature and do not guarantee permanent appointment in MCL or Coal India Limited.

Educational Qualification

For Consultant (Medical Specialist)

Candidates applying for Consultant (Medical Specialist) posts must possess:

• MBBS degree from a recognized Institute/College approved by Medical Council of India (MCI)/NMC
• Recognized Post Graduate Degree/DNB/Post Graduate Diploma in the concerned specialty

Important Note:

• BDS candidates are not eligible for these posts.

Retired Medical Executives of CIL/Subsidiaries

Retired Medical Specialists and retired GDMOs possessing specialized qualifications are eligible subject to the following conditions:

• Should have secured minimum “Good” ratings during the last 5 years of service
• Should not have received punishment under CDA Rules during the last 5 years
• Should not have been involved in corruption, illegal gratification, or criminal cases during service and post-retirement

Outside Candidates

Candidates from PSUs/Government Organizations/Private Practitioners should possess:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in the concerned specialization

For Consultant (GDMO)

Candidates must possess:

• MBBS degree from a recognized Institute/College approved by MCI/NMC

Experience Requirement

Outside candidates should possess:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as GDMO

Age Limit

The maximum age limit prescribed for candidates is:

Candidates should not be more than 70 years of age during the contract period.

Period of Engagement

The contractual engagement will initially be for:

• 1 year

The contract may be extended by another year depending upon:

• Satisfactory performance
• Requirement of the organization

The engagement will automatically cease under the following situations:

• Expiry of contract period
• Attaining the age of 70 years

Additionally, if regular incumbents join MCL against the vacancies, the consultants’ engagement will terminate after 3 months from the joining date of the regular employee.

MCL Salary 2026

The selected candidates will receive attractive consolidated honorarium as mentioned below:

Consultant (Medical Specialist)

• Minimum 4 visits per month are mandatory
• Honorarium is fixed irrespective of number of patients attended

Consultant (GDMO)

• Minimum 8 visits per month are mandatory
• Payment will be made monthly based on actual attendance/visits

Duty Hours / Work Description

Consultant (Medical Specialist)

• Consultants must visit the hospital for minimum 3 hours per session
• Sessions may be conducted twice or thrice a week
• Morning shifts are preferred
• Minimum 4 visits per month are mandatory

Consultant (GDMO)

• Consultants should attend hospital/dispensary for minimum 3 days in a week
• Work schedule will be as per OPD schedule
• Minimum 8 visits per month are mandatory

Medical Facilities

Selected consultants will receive medical facilities under MCL rules.

Key Benefits

• Retired executives of CIL/Subsidiaries covered under CPRMSE will continue under the scheme
• Other consultants will be entitled to medical facilities for self and spouse at MCL Hospitals/Dispensaries as per MAR
• Referral treatment in empanelled hospitals will not be admissible

Accommodation

No accommodation facility will be provided by MCL.

Leave Rules

Consultants engaged on hourly/daily contractual basis shall not be entitled to any paid leave.

Selection Process

The selection process for MCL Recruitment 2026 will include:
