OUAT Professor Recruitment 2026 – 52 Vacancies, Eligibility, Salary, Selection Process & Application Form

Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar has released a recruitment advertisement for eligible candidates for the posts of Professor and equivalent positions in various teaching and research establishments. The recruitment covers subjects under Agricultural Science, Forestry Science, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering & Technology, Basic Science & Humanities, Fishery Science and Community Science.

OUAT Professor Vacancy 2026

Major Professor Subjects

Agricultural Science vacancies include Agronomy, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Plant Physiology, Fruit Science and Horticultural Technology, Vegetable Science, Floriculture and Landscaping, Post Harvest Management, Plant Pathology, Nematology, Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry, Entomology, Agricultural Statistics, Extension Education, Seed Science & Technology and Agricultural Meteorology.

Forestry Science includes Silviculture & Agro-forestry, Forest Products & Utilization and Forest Biology & Tree Improvement.

Veterinary Science vacancies include Veterinary Anatomy & Histology, Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Parasitology, Ambulatory Clinic, Animal Reproduction/Gynecology & Obstetrics, Veterinary Epidemiology & Preventive Medicine and Veterinary Public Health.

OUAT Professor Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility

Candidates must carefully check the subject-wise qualification before applying because the required degree varies according to the advertised post.

For Professor posts, the notification prescribes a minimum Second Class Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary, Forestry, Agricultural Engineering, Basic Science or Community Science, with at least 55% marks or equivalent OGPA.

Candidates must also possess a Second Class Master’s Degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% marks or equivalent OGPA. For example, a candidate applying for Professor in Agronomy should possess an M.Sc. (Ag.) degree in Agronomy.

A Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject is also required for Professor posts.

Experience Requirement

Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of teaching/research/extension education experience, excluding the period spent on Ph.D. study.

The experience should not be below the rank of Assistant Professor/Equivalent, and out of the required experience, 2 years must be in the cadre of Associate Professor/equivalent in the 7th CPC Pay Level 13A in a Government University or reputed accredited University.

Relaxation

A 5% relaxation in Bachelor’s and Master’s degree marks is provided for candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD categories as specified in the notification.

Fishery Science

For Fishery Science Professor posts, candidates require a minimum Second Class Bachelor’s Degree in Fishery Science with 55% marks/equivalent OGPA, along with the prescribed Master’s degree in the concerned or related discipline, Ph.D. and required teaching/research/extension experience.

The notification separately lists eligible related Master’s degree subjects for each Fishery Science discipline.

Associate Director of Research Eligibility

For the Associate Director of Research (Professor/Equivalent) post, candidates should possess a minimum Second Class Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture with at least 55% marks/equivalent OGPA.

A Second Class Master’s Degree in Agriculture in any subject of Agricultural Science with at least 55% marks/equivalent grade point and a Ph.D. in any subject of Agricultural Science are prescribed.

The candidate must also have at least 10 years of teaching/research/extension education experience, excluding Ph.D. study, including 2 years in the cadre of Associate Professor/equivalent as prescribed in the notification.

OUAT Professor Salary 2026

Selected candidates for Professor and equivalent positions will be placed in Cell-1, Level-14 with a basic pay of ₹1,44,200/-, along with usual DA and other admissible allowances.

The retirement age mentioned in the information sheet is 60 years.

OUAT Professor Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process

The recruitment selection process is based on the prescribed evaluation criteria, API score and interview.

The notification provides a total of 100 marks for recruitment of Professors/equivalent positions.

The Teaching, Research & Extension, publications, technology, research projects and recognition components are evaluated according to the detailed scoring criteria provided in the notification. Candidates should therefore carefully verify their supporting documents before submitting the application.

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the API score will be invited for interview in a 1:4 proportion category-wise, as specified in the notification. The notification also states that a candidate needs to secure an overall minimum of 50% to qualify.

The fee is to be deposited in favour of the Comptroller, OUAT, Bhubaneswar through the prescribed modes, including:

• Internet Banking
• Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS)
