Southern Railway Sports Quota Eligibility 2026
Age Limit
Candidates should be 18 to 25 years of age as on 01 January 2027.
The candidate must have been born between 02 January 2002 and 01 January 2009, both dates inclusive. The notification clearly states that there will be no relaxation in the upper or lower age limit.
The date of birth entered in the application must match the candidate’s SSC/SSLC/Matriculation or equivalent certificate.

Sports Qualification
This recruitment is specifically for eligible sportspersons. Recognized sports achievements should be from the current or immediately preceding two financial years and should be on or after 01 April 2024 up to the date of notification. Candidates must also be active players.
The required sports achievement varies according to the pay level.
For Level-5/4, candidates generally need at least a third position in specified Category-B international championships such as World Championships, World Cup, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Youth Olympics or Champions Trophy (Hockey).
For Level-3/2, acceptable achievements include representing India in specified Category-B events, third position in specified Category-C championships, third position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships, National Games, All India Inter University Championships or first position in Federation Cup Senior Championship.
For Level-1, the notification specifies several eligible achievements including representation in specified Category-C events, third position in Federation Cup, representation of a State/equivalent unit with the prescribed National Championship performance, and certain achievements in Youth/Junior National Championships, National Games and All India Inter University Championships.
