The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the Assistant Section Officer (ASO) / Assistant Grade Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) 2025 Notification for eligible departmental candidates. This recruitment examination is conducted to prepare the Select List of Assistant Section Officers (ASO) in the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) under the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) and Assistant Grade in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

SSC has announced 341 tentative vacancies, including 318 vacancies in Central Secretariat Service (CSS) and 23 vacancies in the Ministry of External Affairs (Cadre Cell). SSC has notified a total of 341 tentative vacancies under two participating services.

Post Name

Salary Details

Candidates selected through this examination will be appointed in Pay Level-7 under the 7th CPC.

Apart from the basic pay, selected candidates will also receive DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, Medical Facilities, Pension/NPS benefits, Leave benefits and other allowances as per Central Government rules.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the departmental eligibility prescribed in the notification.

Central Secretariat Service (CSS)

• Must belong to Upper Division Grade of Central Secretariat Clerical Service.
• Should have completed 6 years of approved service as on 01 July 2025.

Ministry of External Affairs

• Must belong to Upper Division Clerk Grade.
• Must have successfully completed mandatory departmental training.
• Must possess 6 years of approved service as on 01 July 2025.

Age Limit

The notification does not prescribe any separate age limit. Eligibility is based on the prescribed departmental service conditions and approved years of service.
