The Professional Knowledge section covers Hindi and English grammar/vocabulary, knowledge of Acts/Rules relating to Official Language implementation, and English-to-Hindi and Hindi-to-English translation.
The Hindi Officer descriptive test carries 50 marks and includes English Essay, Hindi Essay, Hindi Letter Writing, English-to-Hindi Translation and Hindi-to-English Translation. The duration is 60 minutes.
Negative Marking
There is a penalty for incorrect answers in both Preliminary and Main objective examinations. One-fourth of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted for every wrong answer. No penalty is applicable for unanswered questions.
UIIC AO Final Selection & Interview
Candidates qualifying in the Main Examination will be shortlisted for the interview. For the final merit list, the Main Examination and Interview are considered in the ratio of 75:25.
